The five criteria and their weights
Free Sweeps Coin value, 30%. What a player who never buys coins actually receives: the sign-up SC, the daily programme over a month, mail-in response, tournaments open to free entries. Gold Coins count for almost nothing here because they cannot become a prize.
Redemption terms, 25%. The gift-card and cash thresholds, the playthrough multiplier, the methods available, and the days our own redemption took to arrive against the window the operator publishes. A brand whose timeline holds scores higher than one with a faster claim it doesn't meet.
Game library, 20%. Provider quality and spread beyond slots rather than raw title count: live dealer, fish and arcade, crash, scratch, exclusives, and whether the lobby can be searched and filtered.
State availability, 15%. How many states the brand serves and whether its restricted list matches the legal map. A brand that has left eighteen states is useful to fewer readers than one that serves thirty-seven.
Support and trust, 10%. Whether live chat exists and whether it is locked behind a purchase, how long email took, whether a phone line exists, and the operator's track record: named company, published address, honoured exit dates, complaint pattern.
How we test
David Lang registers with real details, verifies, claims the no-purchase offer and plays it across the lobby. Where a feature is gated behind a purchase, he buys the cheapest package that unlocks it. He submits a redemption and follows it to the bank, and the days it took become the brand's published speed. He asks a real question by every support channel and times the answer. Mark Zilberg then checks every figure against the operator's cashier, sweepstakes rules and restricted-state list, and dates the Verified box that appears on every page where the brand is mentioned.
The tests run on a normal consumer account. Operators do not know which account is ours.
How ratings and order are calculated
Each brand is scored on the five criteria, the scores are weighted as above, and the result is expressed out of five. Ties are broken by redemption terms. The order that results is used on every list page on the site without variation, and the ItemList schema on each of those pages is generated from the same record, so the order a search engine sees is the order a reader sees.
How often we re-verify
Every brand is re-checked at the start of each month, and within 48 hours of any change we become aware of to its offer, thresholds or state list. No brand keeps a Verified date older than 31 days. When a state passes a ban, we update the affected brand lists on the effective date and update our list of sweeps casino legal states at the same time.
What removes a brand
A brand is delisted, not just marked down, if a legitimate redemption goes unpaid, if it sells Sweeps Coins directly, if its playthrough exceeds 3x, if it serves a state with a statutory ban, or if it removes its sweepstakes rules or mail-in address. Every delisting is recorded with the date and reason in our new sweeps casinos changelog.
Editorial independence
BestSweepstakesCasinoUSA.com earns a commission when a reader signs up through a link on this site. Commissions do not determine scores or order. A brand can hold a strong commercial deal and still sit seventh if the testing puts it there, and the cons in every review are published for that reason. No brand has paid for a review or a position, and none can. Our homepage ranking of the best sweepstakes casinos is the output of this process and nothing else.
